Went bouldering tonight at the Nottingham Indoor Climbing Centre so I’m typing with really sore fingers!
Its been a while since I’ve been climbing and I could only manage 5a graded routes.
There was this kid there, who couldn’t have been older than 11/12, doing lead climbing on one of far end overhanging walls. He was very good and his dad, who was belaying, told me not only was he in the top 10 or 15 for his age group but he’d only been climbing 14 months!
Anyway, my arms are killing me so I’d better cut this post short. I’m intending to start climbing regularly again and build back up to the 6a’s which I could just about manage a year and a half ago.

hi,
how old are you and do you need a climbing partner?
a friend of mine is an exchange student from Norway at the Nottingham University. He’s a med student, and he has trouble finding climbing partners atm since the rest of the uni starts up in Sept.
In Norway he has been leading sports routes (bolted) both indoor and outdoor up to french grade 6d (norwegian 7-).. but I think it depends on the length of the route. He has been climbing for 2 years or so. He’s not used to only trad climbing, only done that once on a weekend trip back home. Think the grade was french 4a. And he’s also tried climbing outdoors in Nottingham.
If you are comfortable belaying and a safe person to climb with, and maybe around 25 of age- give me a shout and you can contact him by email or facebook.
Cool if you could register at climbfind so you can write back to me there.
Cheers
