Golf and Power Cuts

Golf and Power Cuts

The power’s just come on after a 4th power cut in the Computer Science building in as many days. There were two on Friday while I was in the building and one just after I left. We’re not sure what the cause is or how many happened over the weekend but my suspicion is that the department is trying to get us geeks to take breaks from sitting in front of our computers 24/7!

This one lasted about 10 minutes and Jonny got stuck in the lift for the duration!

The picture is of my first shot from the 13th hole at Brailsford on the 23rd. Unfortunately my birdie putt stopped short so I could only manage par, however as that’s a rare occurrance at the moment I’m pretty happy with it!

Frozen Golf

Frozen Golf

I went golfing today and scored my best score from the white tees so far for the front nine at Brailsford. It was freezing and most of the water on the course was frozen, however my 4 layers + scarf and hat kept me nice and warm.

Golf and Specimen Exams

Sep 12th, 2008 by Joshua Scotton
Golf and Specimen Exams

I played the front nine at a very wet Brailsford Golf Course on Wednesday.

The picture is from behind the right bunker on the first hole.

I got my first par score on hole 4 which is a par 3 so I was quite pleased with myself.

Golf is one of those sports where even if you are playing pretty awfully (which I am most of the time) it is still great fun.

I’ve finally come up with a revision plan for my exams in October. I’ve taken the specimen exam this week and as there aren’t any past papers I’m re-reading the 12 textbooks and then taking the specimen again.

Hopefully this will show up the areas which I’ll be needing to work hard on in the last week leading up to the exams.
